I watched The Devil's Bath last night because @christafaust.bsky.social said it was lights-out historical horror. It did not disappoint! It's based on historical records, which makes it all the more gruesome.
This first draft has taken a couple of wild turns I didn't expect. But thanks to @gailcarriger.bsky.social and The Heroine's Journey, it's still working, and even better than I'd anticipated.

An editor once called me "The darker, angrier Neil Gaiman," so I put it on the cover of my Cemetery Dance short story collection, 12 Tales Lie, 1 Tells True. I'm taking the quote off for my print versions. Would LOVE a replacement quote. If any of my colleagues feel charitable, I would be honored.
