Reminder to new users here: Sea snails that live near hydrothermal vents build themselves shells made of iron

The early ones built shells of bronze!

The shells are cool but the literal iron scale mail growing out of their foot blows my mind. I made a D&D monster out of them, I modified the bone whelk guan snail into the stronger iron whelk with plate armor and a boiling water attack.

This was literally my first skeet on this site
