It’s the next night when he knocks on Ghost’s door. He has a key, but knocks anyways. Knows Simon might need the option of staying alone right now. But Simon answers the door and lets him inside without hesitation, and Soap wraps him in a hug after the door’s closed behind them +

“Give him some space, lad,” he says. Soap listens, even if he doesn’t understand what’s going on yet. Price knows Simon better than the rest of them, can read him the best. He spends the night in his own room alone, hardly sees Ghost the next day either. +

Soap wants to ask what all that was but knows he shouldn’t from the look Price gave him. He thought he knew Ghost’s violent side but has never seen him like that before. He goes to follow Ghost once they land on base, but Price holds him back with a hand on his shoulder. +

Soap watching with concern as Ghost comes out of the room, deathly silent with blood on his mask and gloves. The entire room is silent now, much different than a few moments ago. He doesn’t say a word the entire way back to base, the rest of the team watching him worriedly. +
