Trump's diagnosis of the economy of the 1880s/1890s is at odds with some of the most popular primary sources that I teach on the Gilded Age. Here are a few. 1st, the Preamble to the "Omaha Platform" of the People's Party, which says in part, "The fruits of the toil of millions are boldly stolen."/1
