I interviewed Sayles for Mother Jones at a German restaurant in Hoboken where we were both living at the time. It was around the release of Brother From Another Planet, so 1984 probably. A couple of years before Matewan-which I now want to see again.
I didn’t know that!! I want to hear more about it at Thanksgiving!!
