Higher anxiety was related to better performance on the thermal matching task on the forearm, while higher depression was related to poorer performance on dynamic & static temperature tasks on the palm. Thermosensory trait prediction errors were related to higher anxiety.

Researchers at the University of York are looking to explore how gastric sensations are experienced physically and emotionally to better conceptualize gastric interoception.  

Taking part includes completing an online expression of interest survey and attending an in-person focus group in the psychology department at the University of York that explores the gastric sensations you experience and how it impacts your emotions.

The eligibility criteria: 
You are aged 18 plus 
You identify as having an eating disorder
You identify as having a gastric disorder
You identify as having an eating AND gastric disorder
You have no eating or gastric disorder
You live locally in York and are fluent in English
