Appalling. Washington is not entertainment. Elections are not a sport. The journalists who cover our politics and government should not be hyping themselves up for a fun week of clicks and views while the rest of us are wondering whether we’ll be living in an autocracy next year.

I think the cats know it’s my birthday. Alexis held paws with me and gazed adoringly at me all through breakfast (and I didn’t even have any butter on my plate!), and David has been very kissy all morning. Like, this is my entire view right now. 😻

This morning my niece asked me whether my cats think I’m a cat too. I told her Alexis knows that she and David are cats and that I am something different. David, on the other hand, thinks we’re all the same thing: dogs.
