i don't think it's likely that all the people who never used twitter will suddenly start using the twitter-like spinoff, but plenty of former twitter users maintain an instagram too

I guess but to me IG and twitter never seemed like remotely for the same purpose, which probably makes me an odd one out, twitter was for posts and IG was for me to show photos I was proud of to mostly people I know
