I half expected to see a unicorn on the other side

Enchanted portal, with and without sunbeams

A short tunnel through a hedge with the plants charmingly encroaching all around it. There is bright sunlight illuminating part of the inside of the tunnel and sunbeams shining around the entrance. At the end of the tunnel are more shrubs and trees illuminated by bright sunshine
Same image as before but without so much sun

Pictures from Oregon Garden in Silverton

Leaves are floating in some calm water that is reflecting the blue sky and trees above
I think these are dried up hibiscus buds that have turned brown. There is blue sky and a tree and field of green plants in the background
A thick but sheer coating of spider web is blanketing a leafy bush that is just starting to get some fall color
Some sunlight is streaming down on a big bush with clusters of small brown buds and dangling pink flowers

I spent the afternoon with my family at Oregon Garden taking ten thousand pictures of cool plants and yet my favorite pic of the day is this one that my husband took of a decrepit waste bin.

A cracked and sun bleached sign that is affixed to a garbage bin. It’s really hard to decipher the image on the damaged sign but I’m pretty sure it is an image of a classic metal garbage pail. Above the image is the word ‘waste’

The most “we’ve tried nothing and it doesn’t seem to work” headline in history

New York Times: Why the World's Biggest Powers Can't Stop a Middle
East War
The United States' ability to influence events in the Mideast has waned, and other major nations have essentially been onlookers.

"Police talked to Elizabeth’s middle school guidance counselor and asked her to tell them about Elizabeth’s transition. The counselor said she was worried she’d break the law if she did, but an officer told her 'I am the law.'" wapo.st/47HSqBu

Her trans daughter made the volleyball team. Then an armed officer showed up.

Half the country has banned trans girls from competing in girls sports. Jessica Norton didn’t suspect she’d be punished under one of the bans.

The harassing children stories make me so fucking mad. Even a lot of our "allies" are still fixated on hypothetical trans athletes breaking world records while in real life actual kids are having their lives torn apart by grown adults with transphobic brainrot.

Loved the eyeball stuff and the spider scene. I bet everyone in charge of the special effects was having a blast

I just watched ‘oddity’ on shudder last night and it was really good! ‘In Fabric’ is another fun one, I think it’s on max right now.

quite a big fan of de Chirico's later series of sun paintings

Giorgio de Chirico's painting "Interior With Which The Sun Dies"
Giorgio de Chirico's painting "Sun on the Easel"
Giorgio de Chirico's painting "Sun on the Easel" (same name, different painting as previous)
