I'm presenting on Friday at #taslcon2024 I will have tons of books in world languages to preview and consider.

For all my librarian friends... I got to help weed a colleague's library today. All final decisions will be made by my colleague. It was too much fun!! I hope it helped.

This is my reading goal for next week. Thanks to the local public library, I can read them during the summer. This is 18 of 20 Volunteer State Book Award books from the primary list for 24 -25.

Well I did it! I just presented a full length PD for the first time. I was so nervous. Tennessee Association of School Librarians it was an honor. Blake Hopper, thank you for your help. Katie Capshaw, thank you for pushing me to present.

I bought my first Sona book this spring. It does look promising.

I'd love to add more female voices. We have Yasmin, Katie Woo, Geraldine Pu, Sofia Martinez, Gigi and Ojiji, Camila, Fancy Nancy, Amelia Bedelia, Cowgirl Kate, Penny (Kevin Henkes), Annie and Snowball, Judy Moody, Princess Truly, and King & Kayla. What female protagonists am I missing?

All my hard work paid off. This year I focused on growing interest in reading through a book club, daily book trailers/talks, more book displays w/ forward facing bins, & baskets of books at each table for students to read while they waited their turn to checkout. It's time to celebrate.

City Spies party! Yes, please. Students were able to use a spy kit challenge, apply fingerprint kit equipment, use invisible ink, tryout reverse mirrored sunglasses, and make messages with decoder rings. (Price of admission - read any City Spies Book by James Ponti)
