So for example southwest having no hubs, only using one airframe, no business class, no assigned seating etc etc etc… if delta adopted any one of those things it would be a disaster because it conflicts with other things they do

Or, Trader Joe’s: 90%+ of products are private label, they don’t carry multiple competing brands of things, small number of SKUs, small store footprint, higher paid staff etc etc etc
