I’m now seeing people I’ve worked with and trusted become AI apologists, I think it’s because of the “inevitably narrative” and they want to be on board because they don’t want to become “irrelevant”. Their narratives of “well if you only use it this way” plays into the hands of TechBros.

We’re talking about tools that have been around for less time than it takes to do an under grad degree. Their impact on student learning is untested; and here we are doing the marketing and building use cases, with no substantial research, all for the benefit of the AI snake oil companies.
