A letter from Ken Livingstone: “I am only too pleased to send you a photograph - I hope it is not for a dart board!”

Although his politics were not mine, I kinda liked the guy. I said that once to someone who had worked in his administration; they said "everyone likes Ken except the people who know him". As I still don't know him, I still kinda like him!

While acknowledging his issues, we used to do a periodical publication for which the city's mayor would write a forward with a portrait photo. Usually 'man in suit in front of city+country flag etc' - dull. Ken's came in with him in a shirt no jacket or tie, working. Loved it. My boss didn't :)
