To the east of Tagish along the north shore of Little Attlin Lake there is a large forage producer (I stopped counting at 100 round bales). In addition we saw a plot of oats, plus some exposed black soils which were still visible post veggie harvest. #cropmap24#Yukon#CdnAg
Between Carcross & Tagish next to Crag Lake there is a farm run by the local First Nation. Here they have started construction on a greenhouse (concrete base & ventilation pipes visible). It will grow veggies for the local population. They also have some nice forages too. #cropmap24#Yukon#CdnAg
The recent rainfall here in Whitehorse has meant the surrounding higher elevations are snow covered again. Here Mount Lorne overlooks this field of brome forage. #cropmap24#Yukon#CdnAg
Land in that Ag development near Haines Junction are in various states. Some fields are cleared & growing oats, some are used for pasture. While clearing is still happening in some fields, others that were cleared look to have been left to be taken back by weeds and shrubs. #cropmap24#Yukon#CdnAg
On the way to Haines Junction the Kluane Mountain Range rises in to the sky. Just before you get to town there is a recent agricultural development. One farm in this area might have the most picturesque laneways I have seen.📸 #cropmap24#Yukon#CdnAg
Along the Takhini River forages of brome and grass are common. Less common is this field of Anik Alfalfa with its yellow flower. Had the opportunity to chat with land owner and learned this stand was first planted in 2008! 🤯 #cropmap24#Yukon#CdnAg
