Currently sitting in a University of Kentucky Board of Trustees meeting with a HUGE faculty turnout. That's not a coincidence. The first item on the agenda is a Deloitte consultant recommending that the Board strip the University Senate of much of its authority over academic regulations.
I was a professor and dean at UK for many years. I spent 5 years mostly in SE Asia. Upon my return, I found that the atmosphere had changed radically, with more admins, more constraints on professorial flexibility. I left to pursue other opportunities. No regrets. Clearly, things have gotten worse.
Just say no to Dope..
Deloitte consultant recommends what board paid them to recommend? I am shocked.
I am so sorry. These consultants are grifters. And I say this as a faculty member at a regional public awaiting the report from the consultants our administration hired.
Learning last year that UK Research had hired Deloitte to "improve" OSPA confirmed that I'd made the right decision when I resigned. The things I saw were disheartening. This is far worse. Thankfully, I was in a position to leave without having another job lined up. Others won't have that luxury.
ugh I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. wishing you endurance and righteousness in what lies ahead
Please name the consultant. Every time a Deloitte employee learns about individual responsibility for firm actions an angel gets its wings.
Consultants off swing! An expensive scape goat.
this is how community colleges have lost their accreditation. hope the students are clued in to what's going on. tbh, i know of students at my CC that would be staging loud (and boisterous--they're a fun bunch of kids) protests. some places, the kids are more than all right
Imagine my surprise.
