Honestly if they really had to make us dragonborn (and retcon what that even means, as they did), they could've at least made the war more dynamic and integral to the main quest. Being the DB should've been the edge to turn the tides for either side. It should've given us actual political power

It's actually so stupid that Tulius couldn't give less of a fuck about the MC being the DB. Tulius is a seasoned strategist. Anyone in either his or Ulfric's position would immediately go "holy shit this person is a symbol of myth to the people and wants to support me. This is my hail mary"
