The protest voters performatively care about other people but actually don't. They believe that they will somehow be immune to the consequences of their decision. Could be because they're rich and white, could be because they think they already have it as bad as it can get, who knows.

Eh, this is not terribly fair. There are plenty of people refusing to vote for Biden who are neither rich nor white, and I'm not going to second guess their reasoning whether I agree with it or not. I do wish Biden were doing more to make such people want to vote for him
