I wanted to avoid posting about politics here but I guess I'm tired of this site. The world is a wretched place mostly because people are so horrible to each other, and social media sites like this encourage people to be horrible in a weak replacement for genuine political discourse.
I'm so irritated by this line of thought. It's quite a feat how people have reinterpreted "being an unpleasant jerk" as "fighting for minority rights". When this results in rights being curtailed even further, they'll assume it's because they were too pleasant.
People are always like "Blocking is good and right and promotes healthy discourse! Be the change you want to see in the world and just block everyone!" Only occasionally do they admit that the only reason to block someone is because it feels good to hurt someone who said something you didn't like.
Conspicuous consumption is when you obviously have tuberculosis.
There's a Slipknot song that goes "I push my fingers into my eyes, it's the only thing that slowly stops the ache" and it makes me think "Okay, that's very interesting, but doesn't that mean there's something that quickly stops the ache? Why don't you do that instead?"
I guess today is the day where I post screenshots of two similar images. Here's an interesting coincidence on my YouTube subscription page.
I thought I'd pay attention to those ads that show up on news websites, just out of curiosity. What is going on here? They used the same picture twice, but just changed the color of the thing the woman is wearing? Why? Who the heck clicks on these things? Is anyone even conscious anymore?
Asking search engines what the covers on headphones are called. Bing and Duck Duck Go gave me the answer (cushions) while Google gave me a bunch of Reddit conversations about earbuds. Also another broken #PeopleAlsoAsk. Somehow Google keeps getting worse!
feeling uneasy about the way British people spell "practice" as "practise" because that looks like it should be pronounced "practize"
