As a part of our #energyandenvironment fellowship, I joined a group of Future Caucus lawmakers in Denver the past two days to visit the National Renewable Energy Lab. Iowa is lucky to be connected to their work through the Ames National Laboratory!

The work being done is mind-blowing, from VR experimentation of engineering designs to cement-free bricks made from lignan (the hard part of corn stalks, for example), to hydrogen fuel, to energy microgrids, from the molecular level to the city-wide scale.
