Unfortunately investors as a rule of investing, only look forward a max of 5 years since factors outside anyone's control (ie another pandemic, war, etc.) become too high of a probability beyond that. Which has helped create modern corporate hellscape where everything is about short term gains.

Sounds like it makes a lot of the same missteps that Bethesda DLC usually makes, like having all the new content be entirely self-contained rather than integrate it into the greater game world.

Which if you have to jump through hoops and create a hypothetical where transhumanism comes with massive strings attached, it kinda defeats the entire point of the thought experiment you're trying to provoke. Also "need a expensive drug just to survive" is also just... the modern health care system
Tangentially related, but I often think about how Deus Ex Human Revolution wanted its plot to tear players between "transhumanism bad!" and "transhumanism good!" so they had to invent a dumb scenario where you could only get bodies to accept implants via a expensive addictive drug corpos controlled.
