TTRPG Tip 32. Some “conventional wisdom” on boxed text can serve a purpose. For example, don’t tell the PCs what they feel or think or do. One way to check for this is to look for the second-person pronoun “you.” If you never write “you,” it makes it harder to take away the player’s agency.

TTRPG Tip 33. More boxed text conventional wisdom: use the fewest words possible to deliver the desired effect or information. Player patience and attention is not infinite and often barely present. Make the words you use count, and make them interesting and relevant to the encounter they introduce.
