We know our stories can be long! Recently, we introduced a new feature embedded at the top of some of our stories. These reporting highlights are written by our editors and reporters so you can quickly get the gist of an investigation. Here's an example ⤵️

Reporting Highlights

A Desperate Move: After a failed bond deal, a Wisconsin tribe faced financial ruin — so it turned to high-interest lending, relying on its sovereign rights to avoid state rate caps.

Questionable Partnerships: Many of the day-to-day lending operations are conducted far away from the reservation by nontribal partners, who benefit from the lucrative business model.

Legal Troubles: A borrower in bankruptcy sued the tribe and its business partners for failing to halt collection efforts, in a case that resulted in a decision with big implications.

These highlights were written by the reporters and editors who worked on thsi story. Were they helpful?

So I have two volumes of my grandfather's diaries written in very tiny print. This first one covers 1952-1961. Looks like I spent the night in 1958.

Leather book with a photo of the Alamo dated 1952.
My grandfather was a Brown Shie executive. He used an Executive Record and travel guide as a diary. Each day has 10 years of notes in very small print. He always notes the temperatures as well. Lots of golf, family visits, church and dr.visits. Things that only a handful of us can remember. In 1958, when I'm mentioned he would've been 58 and I was 2. "Finished dog houses-went after the dogs.Bot Chinese Holly & something I can't make out at Sears. Took dogs got up covey of quail. Pat very excited. Nor brot Coralie and girls out. They stayed all night." Pat was an English Setter.

The Cardinals had a fun game last night.Too bad it means nothing as far as this season goes. I haven't decided what team to temporarily adopt.

OK. I read the hl again. Procedural. Again. There at least used to be codes for "cutting edge". Docs that innovate have to have them. Billers don't have the same skill set as a professional coder. Lots of research should go into an unusual claim before it ever gets to the billing dept.

I cannot read this, but i have questions. Diag istic or Procedural? This was not unusual at all 15 years ago. Is it now? No more T Codes? What insurance Co is this? One of those crappy ones that trump allowed to come back that doesn't really cover anything? Yes, I'm now out of touch with coding.

Here's my Missouri cat Freda. I left my rant at that Cooper guy's post and I don't know why Freda was in the water today.

I am mortified by my state of Missouri. Hoping for Gov.Quade in Nov, but realistically, we'll end up with Kehoe, who we hope will be smarter than the fool we have now. I still say there's a possibility MO will return to a purple state in the future. Media is paying no attention to us, as usual.
