As a hobby writer and artist myself I feel like I have now experienced that you can no longer be 100% original. If you want something that feels fresh you either have to execute an older idea flawlessly or give it a twist, a rework that will make it feel yours.

I think people just mostly confuse it with boring ig? It’s easier to say something is cliché instead it being unimaginitive. It is kinda impossible to make something completely original now. So agree, clichés done good instead of a big nothingburger of a plot is the way :D
