I find "jab" very effective, as a Brit. It is short, sharp and direct, balanced with a touch of self-mockery.
Jab sounds aggressive, whilst vaccination sounds safe. Words do matter, especially with people who find needles terrifying IMO.
I think it’s the self-mockery that I dislike. (I’m also British.)
