This is something I’ve been reading on a bunch lately and it’s really frustrating looking at the difference between the modeling going on at the engineering and procurement level (high quality) and the wargaming and think tank level (disastrously bad)

I don’t disagree here, but there is something to be said both for using existing infrastructure and for the ability to do last-mile stuff much more easily than trains. If they can at least somewhat automate the docking process that would be a huge deal
If you take the narrow definition of politics, you can debate the point more easily, but when you engage with more broadly defined politics, then scientists are absolutely political entities with pretty clear ideologies
