Trust me, I totally relate about not wanting to ask for help but the people who care about you will want to help. I try not to see it as being a burden, rather having a friend guide me. It can make them feel useful and that's quite comforting. If asking for help is too hard, ask for their thoughts.

No clutter on the side makes it easier to see the feed. I like it says "follow back" if I follow someone. Still feels like it's missing something but just have to get used to it. It's like opening your window first day of spring.
