we had heard a bit about masks and masking at the time so we decided to make a mask of our own. it was to be tough and quiet and numb to the pain we were feeling back then. we wore it as much as we could until it was all but impossible to remove. this mask eventually became Elias (that's me) (2/?)

Over time we (then just I) were having difficulty connecting with others so we made a new mask. This one was to be witty, funny, more outgoing (although we struggled to overcome our shyness). this became Beth once we became aware of ourselves/each other. (3/?)
