There's a freelance editor with one of my books on their web portfolio. Yes, they technically worked on it, but did a horrible job and were told by the publisher that they'd stepped way outside the appropriate boundaries of their role in a harmful way. We had to ignore the majority of their work.
Also: I think they're banking on people confusing them with Grub Street's established (and legit) book incubator programs. grubstreet.org/programs/int...
