UK manufacturers have renewed calls on govt to urgently draft an industrial strategy that will bring in investment and fix the “terrible” damage caused by Brexit deal. Since Brexit no of products we export has fallen by 80% which implies that it is the SMEs that have stopped exporting to the EU.
Keir Starmer is right that his manifesto said that we would not rejoin the EU. Maybe something like the LibDems saying they would could change the position.They won 70+ seats in the last election, they could do even better if the next with that policy. No internal problems in that party either.
Fix Brexit which means reapply for membership. Country needs fixing first and not just the economy.
This all helps because it gives Labour the excuse it needs to get closer and closer to the EU.

Makes lots of sense. Small & micro-business exporters cd only “export” because the Single Market was actually a large _home_ market. Cd never cope with the admin & costs of actual exporting. Now stuck with a small home mkt, = increasingly unviable, certainly less volume & profit potential.
Frustrating that they weren't more vociferous during the campaign. Amongst industrialists, far more prominent were self-serving schemers such as Dyson and Ratcliffe
