The real story here is, I believe, that a Democratic mayor is showing that neither party is truly committed to substantially improving the quality of life for their constituents. (As well as how dysfunctional they are as staff when they cannot pro-actively project shortfalls, so folks can plan).
"Mayor Adams’ revised municipal budget this fall cut the public university’s budget by $23 million." Good thing Adams found room for hundreds of millions of additional police overtime. Also, based on the last ten years' average, $200M/year in settlements for police misconduct.
