Earlier in my career, I tried to get academic men to talk about this. Didn’t really work. There was one panel on parenting at a major conference in which the only two men in the full room were me, a panelist, and a (gay) friend who is not a parent and doesn’t want to be one.
At JAOBC, they had a pannel about parenting, having kids, and Army-life-parenting balance, ranging from male single parent, single mother, and married couples. Great panel for new officers and those adjusting to new status, but not really for reserves. Having a life+work panel is usually good.
