I feel like “history will judge” is often a way to avoid JUDGING RIGHT FUCKING NOW.

Anyone who says "history will judge" ... hasn't actually studied history.

"History will judge.." is just a variation of "Someone whose opinion matters more than mine will judge..."

"history will judge you" is just the secular form of "god will judge you"

David Frum is a trusted liberal voice. History didn't judge his Iraq cheerleading when he did it and doesn't now. Does the attitude of "scary foreign nations need to be kept at bay with bombs and drones" connect to the current situation, decades later?

I think I know a historian or two that would pretty judge-y about current events.
