1/ Awk-ward. SpaceX owned and operated Starlink has agreed to block X in Brazil in order to keep operating there as a satellite internet service. Both companies are owned by Musk. www.cnbc.com/2024/09/03/e...
SpaceX satellite internet service, Starlink, said it will comply with court orders to block social network X in Brazil.
Awkward or hillarious? Why not both??!?
This will be "negotiated" soon. Musk will declare victory, and yield to the laws of Brazil, simultaneously.
(Wistfully) I memba it all
2/ Memba this? Nov. 2022. I broke the story (thanks to sources who wanted the real deal known) that SpaceX bought a giant ad campaign for Starlink on Twitter right after the Musk takeover and with other advertisers hitting pause on spending. www.cnbc.com/2022/11/14/s...
Elon Musk's aerospace business SpaceX just ordered one of the larger advertising packages available from Twitter.
Great thread!!
I wonder how many countries are regretting their SpaceX military contacts now that they see how entangled they are with all of Elon's companies and extremism. If you hold one Elon company accountable or criticize him, will he use another company to turn off your military telecommunications?
The Brazilian judiciary is not fucking around, and in full "go ahead and find out" mode to X and Starlink. You love to see it.
