I honestly couldn’t much care if autopilot kills the person driving the car. They chose to be there and to trust the system. It’s everyone *else* on the road who needs protection!
Very telling that vehicular safety is all about the driver and passengers, and fuck those losers who are outwith the car.
Personally I'm mystified that the auto insurance industry in the US is willing to underwrite policies for Tesla given presumably the liability if Autopilot kills / maims a third party is an absolute mess of future litigation? Or does Tesla just keep an open chequebook handy, for the time being?
The fact that it continued driving for 40 seconds, 1/3 of a mile, at an average 30mph, with a dead driver...
I don't know why they don't ban it right away. Like, today. It's especially dangerous to other road users because it's so unpredictable
It's rather telling that the autopilot apparently doesn't react if you feed it illegal instructions. These are rather potent murder weapons, should one choose to be creative with them.
opinions may differ here but “products on the market shouldn’t kill the people that buy them” is a thing that I like in society
