On Monday, a coalition of environmental groups sued the FAA in an attempt to revoke SpaceX’s Starship launch license. The argument is that the FAA needs to do a more thorough environmental impact statement of Starbase and Starship. Twitter replies got out of hand so let’s try here: Thoughts?
SpaceX Starship Rocket Launch Was Hastily Approved, Suit Against FAA Says
The test launch of SpaceX’s next-generation Starship rocket triggered a lawsuit against the Federal Aviation Administration by a coalition of environmental groups and a Native American tribe, which says the agency was too quick to approve a southern Texas launch site near a sensitive wildlife area.
Seems like a good idea to me; better safe than sorry. I think SpaceX should encourage this to get in front of it, too.
