I don't think that's too big a jump. People want to believe spiritual stuff, and they don't understand quantum physics but they're given vague notions of it by pop-sci people who don't understand it themselves. So they pick up weird things that they can use to justify those beliefs. For example: 1/2

- Consciousness is real and special because of the observer effect - Multiple things can be true at once so there's no such thing as straightfoward facts 1/2 - Multiverses - Utterly incoherent shit about "vibrating" on different "dimensions", probably inspired by string theory 2/2
