The manner in which Israel is conducting that war is abhorrent and criminal, even if Hamas openly proclaim they want their own civilians to die & deliberately worsens it at every turn. But that war was *going to happen*, because that's the consequence of a massive pogrom against a powerful state.

Which, as I have been saying until I'm blue in the face, is why *you don't launch massive pogroms against the state upon whom your population are entirely dependent*, even IF your population is suffering under blockades. You make reprisal *inevitable*, and likely vicious!
