As someone who is going through IVF, and as someone whose household very recently suffered the death of a baby, I feel extremely qualified to say that no, embryos are not children

Same here. I saw pictures of our embryos when my wife and I went through IVF. They’re tiny clumps of cells - not children. I wish you the best of luck with your IVF journey. I know what an emotional rollercoaster it is.

Even the pausing of IVF in Alabama is awful. it is so time sensitive. You can’t just pick up where you left off when a court overturns a law. Eggs don’t wait. The uterus doesn’t wait. (I know you know this! went though multiple failed IVFs and 11 miscarriages myself & am so sorry for your loss 😞)
