The warning of a strike came after an Israeli security official said Israeli troops crossed into southern Lebanon to “remove threats and to deal with Hezbollah strongholds.”

Interesting strategy from the White House of just coming out and saying what's about to happen and sharing what might otherwise be highly classified intel. Not quite sure what it's meant to achieve, but maybe it's the only lever they have right now.
