Hey new users who are artists, photographers, cosplayers, etc— there’s a strong culture here of putting alt text on images, and a whole lot of people won’t repost something that doesn’t have it. If you want to improve your reach, that’s a key ingredient. And alt text can be searched!

That means if someone is looking for, say, pictures of cats, they can search for “cat” and have alt-texted pictures of cats come up.

The part 2 to this is while you can sneak a hashtag or two at the end, alt text describes the photo, it isn't a keyword stash. i.e "A woman with black hair and fair skin holds a raven in her hand." and not "fantasy raven bird solo woman digitalart painting procreate"

Meh, nobody’s going to repost anything of mine anyway. I’m too boring or abrasive (don’t know which). It won’t stop me from doing it, but it isn’t the threat you think it is.
