European public funding projections for 2025, based on latest MEP data published by the @APPF_EU following the registration of the ESN. public.tableau.com/app/profile/...
But it's hardly surprising, unfortunately...
Note 2: according to the draft EU budget for 2025, the total amount of public funding allocated to #europeanpartiesepfo.eueur-lex.europa.eu/budget/data/...
Note: these figures are subject to change based on parties' number of MEPs recognised as members by the APPF. Figures also represent entitlements to EU public funding; actual amounts received by parties may be lower and will depend on their own resources and spending. 4/4
In terms of shares, the EPP and PES remain stable, while ALDE and the EGP stumble and make way for (far)right-wing parties. 3/4 public.tableau.com/app/profile/...
Highlights: - EPP gains MEPs but loses funding - ALDE and the EGP lose substantial amounts after electoral routs - the European Left Alliance siphons MEPs and funds from the European Left - far-right newcomer ESN surges to 7th place - the ECR gains while the Patriots lose 2/4
European Democracy Consulting & its foundation will continue to push for stronger #europeanparties#transparencyepfo.eu), we are making policy proposals, and we're just getting started! 🇪🇺
The European Party Funding Observatory advances the study of European parties by making data transparent and accessible to all.
So while most citizens currently do not care much for #europeanparties, strengthening their role in the EU is essential for citizens and for democracy. Whether we reform or die of "slow agony" should be by conscious choice, not by stumbling on our own national ministers. 9/10
All these examples take us back to #europeanparties. Stronger EU parties doesn't mean that we *will* have more integration, let alone a federal Europe, but would ensure that that decision is not the result of individual states blocking everything and anything they oppose. 7/10
