This summer, the Court sent a similar case involving Idaho's abortion ban and EMTALA back to the lower court. Some (many?) believed the PR that Justices Barrett and Kavanaugh were so moved by the plight of pregnant people that they changed their minds. The foolishness. I could spit nails

They just wanted to gut EMTALA more quietly, with less press attention, and now they’ve done it. But everyone will still remember the good press about their “moderation.”
