Venoms 1 and 2 were expected to underperform (I think the estimate was 50m for each) but opened at 80m and 90m. I firmly believe these movies will continue to defy all analyst logic.

Industry analysts were predicting $65-70m for the first Venom movie. The second film did have a $50m number in its predictions but that was when Covid was more rampant so the box office landscape was much more unpredictable
