Healthcare workers don’t decide whether to wear gloves or sterilize equipment based on how many people are hospitalized. They just do it because it protects patients, and every patient has the right to get healthcare without becoming more sick. It should be the same with masks.

If you or a loved one need to stay in a US hospital right now, assume you are catching covid. No masks in sight. I dodged it with my mask and short visits, the rest of my family caught it. One of whom, not the pt, is still sick and probably heading to the same hospital that infected him.

As a healthcare worker I fully agree and I always wear a mask in public and/or around patients. It genuinely makes NO sense not to and I hate that so many people are just shrugging and dropping them.
