Mass General Brigham, the largest health system in MA, is reinstating masking requirements on Jan 2. It joins Boston Medical Center, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Beth Israel Lahey Health & other MA hospitals. Why was this not done weeks ago at the *start* of the COVID surge?

Mass General Brigham, the state's largest health system, is reinstating masking requirements as Covid-19 cases in Massachusetts continue to increase.
Boston Medical Center said Thursday it would resume masking requirements in all patient-care areas beginning Friday. On Monday, the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute reinstated its mask requirements in all clinical and public spaces, and the Beth Israel Lahey Health system (BILH) updated its policies to require masking for all health care personnel upon entry to a patient room or bed space.

I never stopped wearing masks indoors. Saves a lot of grief.

No hospital should have ever *dropped* those requirements. It's health care, ffs.

I "liked" seeing the local health people posting on the 26th about protecting friends and family by getting vaccinated. 🙄 You know, something they should've been hammering a month or two earlier.

It’s done right after the holiday because everyone expects a huge surge from holiday gatherings. It’s planned in advance. A lot of health systems do the same.

Seriously. I was there December 13 as a patient. *Nobody* was masking except my primary care physician, and she's an outlier.

I was at a cancer center last week. Maybe 10% masking would be a generous estimate.

Does this include Children’s /do you know? Spent 3 months there this fall and rare to see anyone masking even in ICU (except us)
