According to the latest CDC COVID-19 wastewater data, we are currently in the second-biggest surge of the pandemic. It will peak in the next week, with ~2 million infections per day. During this surge, ~100 million people total (~1 in 3 people in the US) will likely get COVID.
You will most probably beat the highest surge to date with this one. At least the whole Dach region did (Austria, Germany, maybe Switzerland) Germany has/had 9 Mio ill with popul. Of 83mio. And our wastewater signal was crazy too, take care! abwassermonitoring.at/dashboard/
My least favourite part of this is how people will casually say to you "my house is coming down with a little cold" and then proceed to do nothing.SMDH
Hi! How did you create that graph? The CDC page itself doesn't present history and has a different color scheme and doesn't appear to have the same peak at the end. I'd like to send a link directly to the graph you are showing here to my COVID tracking group
IF YOU ARE NOT WEARING A MASK AND DISTANCING, YOU WILL GET COVID. GET YOUR GODDAMNED SHOT. WEAR A DAMN MASK, N95's aren't that pricy (about $20 for a 50-count pack, and you can wear them more than once). Miantain at least a 6' distance, ESPECIALLY in public areas! WASH YOUR HANDS.
This is kinda big, and not in a cool way. Pay attention and keep safe everyone.
Same in New Zealand. And everyone gives me funny looks because I'm still masked & gloved because I don't want it and can't afford to get it in case I pass it to the unable to be vaccinated human I care for.
Not shocked. It's hit our house. I'm on day 2 of Paxlovid. Whatever variant I have is definitely being knocked down by it.
Great. Right when I'm booked to go see my family. At least they are not idiots, and of course I'll mask the whole time. But jeeeeez.
What model are you using to correlate wastewater levels to estimated cases? (People are discussing that 1 out of 3 figure elsewhere on BlueSky, and trying to figure out the modeling.)
