May be worth checking with your local free clinic (if you have one). The one I volunteer with has provided them for free to date- insured or not. Not sure about the latest vaccine, but a free clinic is good place to start for community resources/work arounds

Even here in the UK the NHS is refusing to give out covid vaccines without "sufficient reason" (i.e susceptible individuals to health concerns.) which is BETTER but for goodness sakes we have AMPLE flu vaccines in winter for all, but Covid? Not a whisper.

Well, that's not gonna be great for vaccine uptake. Like, getting people to take the vaccine *for free* was gonna be hard enough. Tack on a thousand bucks for a family of 5? That's simply outside the budgets of most people I know.

This is accurate, that’s how much I paid at CVS last Thursday because my employee insurance (ranked in the top 10 of U.S. universities) was not covering the vaccine yet. Will spend more hours this week trying to get reimbursed.
