There’s a lot of anecdotal concern that adolescents are romanticising mental health problems more these days, and that it’s a problem. But there has been no attempt to bring together the literature on this, so Awa led this narrative review

Main findings: some adolescents do romanticise MH problems, especially online, w most research focusing on self-harm and eating disorders. There are understandable reasons why they do it (coping, sense of community with others, they see it a lot in media)
