It doesn’t mean she’s not happy to be married to Felix, but being in a good situation does not save you from your brain chemicals being out of balance! She is not magically “fixed” just because her life is objectively going well! Depression doesn’t care how well things are going!
Someday I will talk about how, in Ace of Hearts, Hesper marries the guy she’s been in love with for years—and completely beyond her control, has a huge depressive episode immediately afterward.
It’s the last two days of #DisabilityPrideMonth! All of my books feature disabled characters (or in the case of The Bridal Party, an extended metaphor for the social model of disability and chronic fatigue). I’m multiply disabled myself. I’m recycling a thread, because spoons are low. Ironic!
