I saw them as I was leaving my meeting, this evening!
Someone eventually came and FINALLY removed the bags of screaming smoke detectors, and we cheered. I'm pretty sure that's what has made me extra twitchy whenever ours decide to make themselves known. (; /fin.
And the smoke detectors were VERY UNHAPPY about that, and sang the shrill song of their people at full blast. Remember, my office was right above all of this. If that wasn't enough, this lasted for another WEEK. We were going out of our minds.
They sat there for about a month, and sure enough, would start beeping. At first, it was just one or two, but then a chorus of them could be heard, calling to their brethren in the other bags. And then, one day, someone accidentally backed over one of the bags with a truck... 2/
